.SE Domain Registration
The dot SE country-code top-level extension was established in 1986 and assigned to Sweden. During the first years after its introduction, the registration process was pretty restrictive, so a very low number of domains were bought. Individuals could acquire solely one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was a must, i.e. only Swedish persons, companies and organizations were able to buy a .SE domain. In 2003, however, the registration process was loosened significantly and, as a result, the number of dot SE domains has been increasing each year.
